Environmental Justice and Ecological Restoration

Join us to hear about food justice farming and urban reforestation projects in Baltimore City. Take away ways to make your residential and community landscapes more hospitable to native plants and wildlife, and ways for gardeners and others to help alleviate food insecurity in our communities.

McKay Jenkins is a Baltimore-based writer, professor, restoration ecologist and urban farmer. He has published ten books and many articles and essays about the natural world and social justice. His new book The Maryland Naturalist (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2025) is a collection of natural history essays that also serves as the primary text for the Maryland State Master Naturalist Certification Program. He is the Tilghman Professor of English, Journalism and Environmental Humanities at the University of Delaware.
