How do we look at a work of art? Practice your skill at close looking to gain a deeper understanding of works from the Walter’s collection. What will you notice? And, what does it mean?


Jill Reynolds and Bonnie Kind will be presenting this class. 

Jill Reynolds has been a volunteer docent at the Walters Art Museum for eight years and a frequent visitor for far longer. In addition to being a docent Jill teaches for the Baltimore School of Independent Learners and her classes have included Art History and Ancient Civilizations.  Jill holds her MA and M.Ed in Education from Columbia University and is currently pursuing additional graduate work at Johns Hopkins University in Museum Studies.

Bonnie Kind graduated from the University of Maryland with a BS degree in accounting.  She is a Certified Public Accountant.  In addition, she earned an MBA degree from Loyola University.  For over 40 years, she worked for the Federal government and held positions of leadership.  Prior to retirement, she was the Associate Commissioner for the Office of Budget in the Social Security Administration and, before that, the Chief Financial Officer for a major Defense intelligence agency.  Bonnie held numerous positions of leadership in the Association of Government Accountants, including chapter president.  Throughout her life, art, history, and travel was a passion for Bonnie.  In 2018, she became a docent at the Walters Museum.  In addition, she works part-time for a local law firm.
