This class is designed for English language learners. Improve your spoken English as we focus on listening and speaking skills with an emphasis on everyday pronunciation, intonation, and stress, as well as unique American rhythms.

This class is designed for English language learners who are interested in taking the US citizenship exam. You'll receive an email invitation to attend an orientation first.  This orientation is required for all participants.

Teen Time at HCLS East Columbia Branch is an initiative for neighborhood teens that enhances student academics in a fun, welcoming, after-school environment.

A  hang out for teens to connect, play games and create.

A club for gaming enthusiasts to learn and play games from the past, present and future.

This month's gaming tournament will feature Mario Kart (Nintendo Switch) and NBA 2k23 (PS5).

Calling all young builders! Come and explore a variety of building materials  and look to books for inspiration.  This is an all ages family event with no tickets and is a drop-in opportunity.

From the comfort of the Central Branch, take a virtual trip through Siberia, from Moscow to Beijing. You will enjoy tea at the Metropol in Moscow. Then board the train and go for the longest train ride in the world.

Explore various culinary cuisines/chefs of the world. A new cuisine/chef every month. This month's chef is Mark Bittman. Pick-up any Mark Bittman cookbook at the library, cook some recipes and come have a culinary discussion.

The English Conversation Class (ECC) provides opportunities for adult English language learners to practice speaking and listening skills, increase fluency, improve pronunciation skills, and build confidence to think and speak English in a relaxed

Learn how to provide the right light, water and growing conditions to make sure your indoor plants are happy and healthy. You'll also learn how to create a sustainable plant care routine, repot and propagate your plants.

Bas Bleu, French for “bluestocking,” refers to an intellectual or literary woman.  We read a variety of literary fiction, and all are welcome – not just bluestockings!
