Do you enjoy science class? Do you enjoy hands-on activities? Explore how you can create various kinds of “weird” substances in this class.

In these dynamic fun filled classes, students will learn to set up a budget, evaluate needs vs. wants, and explore healthy vs unhealthy credit card usage.

Are you taking Physics this fall?  Review math and physical science skills and get a preview of what is to come in Physics. Graphing calculators and familiarity with Algebra 1 concepts recommended. Taught by a HiTech instructor.

Students will get hands on experience working in the online application vectr.com. They will gain an understanding of vector illustrations and how they are used in digital media.

This course will cover an overview of the topics in zoology, including cell biology, taxonomy, major vertebrate groups, physiology, genetics, evolution, and ecology. Activities related to the course material will be completed each day.

Learn about one, two, and three-point perspective and create illustrations using their newfound knowledge.

Compete in the ultimate racing challenge! Working in teams, learn how mechanical systems operate by using a 1:10 scale electric radio-controlled car that can be set up in 4 million ways.

Create the coolest Chemistry experience for the HiTech Carnival! No experience necessary. This course will cover a review of basic chemistry concepts and will guide students to build and design chemistry-related carnival games.

Learn how the digital single lens reflex camera is engineered to utilize part of the electromagnetic spectrum we call visible light.

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between you and a microorganism? Were you ever curious about the difference between cellular respiration and photosynthesis?

Collaborate in self-directed teams to create an animation. Sculpt characters, storyboard, design sets, and photograph stills. Then attend the virtual Award Ceremony on Saturday, August 19 from 2 - 3 pm.

Students will split into teams to design and construct their own hovercrafts. They will be introduced to physics and the engineering design process, and will compete in a hovercraft race. Taught by a HiTech instructor.

In collaboration with Columbia Association, Howard County Library System's Miller Branch will host a monthly World Languages Café, beginning in September on the 2nd Thursday evening, from 7 - 8:45 pm.

These classes are designed for adult English language learners who are in high intermediate and advanced levels. Classes meet virtually twice a week on Tue. & Thur., 7-9PM.
