On the fourth Tuesday of each month HCLS co-hosts an online roundtable focusing on a local business owned by a Person of Color in Howard County.  The owner shares the experiences and challenges they face as a local business owner. The discussion is moderated by Nat Alston, Chair and Founder of the Ujamaa Business Roundtable. Includes time for Q&A. The February Business Roundtable features Jonelle Ocloo, Esq., LOJO Immigration.

Jonelle Ocloo, Esq. is the managing attorney of Law Offices of Jonelle Ocloo, LLC (also known as LOJO Immigration) based in Columbia, Maryland. Ms. Ocloo graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors degree in International Relations from the College of William and Mary, and received her Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Yale University. She has practiced immigration law exclusively for over 15 years and represents individuals, families, and businesses in a variety of employment-based and family-sponsored immigration and naturalization matters. Ms. Ocloo has assisted a broad range of businesses from small startup enterprises to large multinational corporations, educational institutions, hospitals and non-profit entities including religious institutions in the temporary employment of foreign personnel as well as in permanent residence sponsorship. She has as spoken on complex immigration issues to lawyers in local, regional, and national seminars and conferences.

Ms. Ocloo is Past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) Immigration Law Section. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) where she serves as Liaison to the Baltimore USCIS office. She also serves on the executive board of the DMV Chapter of the Association of Ghanaian Lawyers of America (AGLA-DMV).

Jonelle Ocloo was named as a SuperLawyer in the field of Immigration Law. She has been recognized in the International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers. Ms. Ocloo was named as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by the Daily Record, and as an Emerging Leader by the Association of Black Charities. She is a 2016 graduate of Leadership Howard County and serves on the Board of Directors of FIRN, Inc.
