Each month HCLS co-hosts an online roundtable focusing on a local business owned by a Person of Color in Howard County.  The owner shares the experiences and challenges they face as a local business owner. The discussion is moderated by Nat Alston, Chair and Founder of the Ujamaa Business Roundtable. Includes time for Q&A.

In partnership with Ujamaa Business Roundtable, a roundtable of African-American business owners from the counties of Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Baltimore and Baltimore City. 

The featured guest of Business Roundtable for the month of March will be Jetheda Hernandez.

Jetheda Hernandez has been seen as a national advocate for entrepreneurship and economic mobilization for over 20 years. As a success business & social media strategist and speaker, Jetheda has created a buzz for her business savvy, natural leadership and selfless partnership-creation. Founder & CEO of Consult Square Group, a full-service Business Development & Growth firm, she works on the front line to ensure businesses have the tools needed for scale and growth. Most recently, Jetheda also became a franchise owner of Card My Yard-Howard; a celebration sign and banner company.

In addition, Jetheda also serves as the Senior Advisor for External Affairs for the U.S. Minority Business Development Agency. In this capacity, she manages relationships of over 250 corporations and organizations across the country; working to build strong alliances that aid in the growth, sustainability and success of minority businesses. Jetheda is also a guest lecturer and adjunct business professor at Coppin State University in Baltimore, MD.

Jetheda has also provided marketing and strategic consulting solutions for notable corporations around the country, to include Sony Entertainment, Black Entertainment Television, BMG Records, MTV, Viacom networks and countless large and small businesses around the county. Since the start of her career she has held positions of increasing responsibility in national marketing, public affairs, sales, and corporate and community relations.

A native of Richmond, VA, Jetheda holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami. Jetheda has received numerous honors including being named as one of the 39 Under 39 Finest Professionals in Howard Co., MD by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and being awarded as one of Maryland’s Top Women by the Maryland Daily Digest. Jetheda is a 22-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She serves on the board of The3rd. As well as being a member of the NAACP, Jack & Jill of America, MD Black Chamber of Commerce, and The National MBA Association.
