On the fourth Tuesday of each month HCLS co-hosts an online roundtable focusing on a local business owned by a Person of Color in Howard County.  The owner shares the experiences and challenges they face as a local business owner. The discussion is moderated by Nat Alston, Chair and Founder of the Ujamaa Business Roundtable. Includes time for Q&A. 

In partnership with Ujamaa Business Roundtable, a roundtable of African-American business owners from the counties of Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Baltimore and Baltimore City. 

The December Business Roundtable features Falilat "Tee" Abari, owner of Spectrum Collection Acrylic Furniture.

Falilat “ Tee” Abari is the owner & CEO of Spectrum Collection Acrylic Furniture. She has over 18 years of experience manufacturing custom acrylic furniture pieces. During her time as a manufacturer she has had the pleasure and honor to fabricate pieces for various showrooms, celebrities and well-known people. Her passion for creating unique pieces started when she was working for Spectrum Ltd., a former manufacturing company. She started out as an administrative assistant then later promoted to Vice President of Operations. Her predecessor who had 40 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing closely mentored her. Under his mentorship, Falilat “Tee” Abari learned the ins and outs of the day to day operation of a furniture manufacturing company. In addition, she learned the necessary skills and knowledge to create, design, and build unique and custom pieces. Her specialty includes working with acrylic material due to its high quality & durability.
