The discussion is moderated by Nat Alston, Chair and Founder of the Ujamaa Business Roundtable. Includes time for Q&A. The business roundtable meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

In partnership with Ujamaa Business Roundtable, a roundtable of African-American business owners from the counties of Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Baltimore and Baltimore City.

About the Speaker:

For me, the most important thing when someone's trying to do something is 'what is their why?' And my advice is 'make sure you're doing it better than everyone else.' ~ Elias Castillo

Hi, I'm Elias Castillo. I'm a Howard County Transplant. I moved to Columbia, MD when I was 13 years old. I attended Howard County Public School System and Howard Community College. Later in life I transferred to the University of Maryland and studied Business Management. During my senior year in Business School I created a business plan with my best friend. In 2014 when we graduated and founded District Juicery. Since then we have evolved into Trifecto Bar. Trifecto is located in Clarksville, MD. In my journey as a small business owner I have helped other businesses start companies right here in Howard County. I'm currently the General Manager at The Common Kitchen. The Common Kitchen is Howard County's first food hall. We provide a platform for small business owners to get their business started at a fraction of the cost. My experience as the General Manager has taught me to be resilient when change is the only constant.
