Business Roundtable: Dr. Xavier Bruce, Founder & CEO of Upl!ft Energy Coaching

Each month HCLS co-hosts an online roundtable focusing on a local business owned by a Person of Color in Howard County. The owner shares the experiences and challenges they face as a local business owner. The discussion is moderated by Nat Alston, Chair and Founder of the Ujamaa Business Roundtable. Includes time for Q&A. The business roundtable meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

The feature guest of the July Business Roundtable is Dr. Xavier Bruce, Founder & CEO of Upl!ft Energy Coaching.  

Dr. Xavier Bruce, aka Dr. X, is a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and accomplished leader.  Over the course of his 24-year military career, Dr. X served in healthcare administration, supply chain management, and intelligence analysis. In May 2018, he founded Upl!ft Energy Coaching, LLC to help Black veterans thrive during life transitions.  In December 2019, Dr. X and his wife (Alisa) co-founded Uplift In-Powerment, Inc. to provide holistic transition services that empower and inspire underserved veterans.  In 2021, he chartered the Western Maryland Chapter of the National Association for Black Veterans. 

Founding in 2018, Upl!ft was birthed from Dr. X’s idea of a self-leadership development system for Black veterans.  By delving into the practices of energetic self-perception and strategic influence theory, he constructed the self-development framework called Strategic Energetic Transition™ which serves as the basis of his unique approach to coaching and speaking.
Dr. X completed his undergraduate studies from the United States Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. In 2004, he completed his Master of Business Administration degree from Wayland Baptist University. In 2011, Dr. X completed a Doctorate of Business Administration from Walden University, where he analyzed the impact of employee characteristics on the use of rational persuasion in group purchasing organizations. He became a Certified Professional Coach from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching in 2012.

Dr. X is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., National Association for Black Veterans, UJAMMA Business Roundtable, to name a few organizations.
