The Maryland Insurance Administration presents a virtual event on Why Renter's Insurance is Important. Unfortunately, most people do not think about renters insurance until they have reason to use it. Although we know that fires, thefts, and accidents occur, we tend to think, “Odds are, that will never happen to me.” The truth is, at some point you may experience a fire, theft, accident or other loss.
Purchasing renters insurance will not prevent fires, thefts, or other types of loss, but it can help you recover from the financial effects of a loss that is covered by your policy. During this presentation we will discuss what a renters insurance policy typically covers, what it excludes, how much coverage you need and how much it may cost. Presented by the Maryland Insurance Administration.
