Local historian and collector Loris Simcik relates the story behind the collaborative effort of magazine publishers and the U.S. Treasury to put the American flag on the cover of hundreds of magazines to promote national unity rally support for the World War II and celebrate Independence Day. Magazine covers from the United We Stand campaign displayed at Miller Branch in July.
