Join us as we discuss books pertaining to LGBTQ+ experiences! All identities are welcome.

This month's book will be The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen.

Book summary: "Real life isn't a fairytale. But Tié̂n still enjoys reading his favorite stories with his parents from the books he borrows from the local library. It's hard enough trying to communicate with your parents as a kid, but for Tié̂n, he doesn't even have the right words because his parents are struggling with their English. Is there a Vietnamese word for what he's going through? Is there a way to tell them he's gay?"

Please register with an email address to receive an immediate registration confirmation with a link to join the class/event. This email will also contain the dial-in information if you wish to participate by telephone.

Registered customers may checkout books at the Central Branch Customer Service Desk, beginning 4 weeks prior to the discussion date. If you would like to pick up a copy of the discussion title at a different HCLS branch, or have any questions regarding Reads of Acceptance, contact ash.baker@hclibrary.org
