Celebrate the Luna New Year with an International Grocery Store Tour on Thursday, January 25 3-4pm. at the Greatwall (GW) Supermarket (5510 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD 21228). A native of Hong Kong and avid cook, our volunteer will lead a group of 15 participants on a tour, share a recipe of traditional Cantonese dish, explain what the ingredients are and where to find them in the grocery store.  Along with the tour, participants will receive a list of resources related to the featured culture, including history, literature, travel information and culinary traditions.

We're also on the lookout for volunteers who are interested in sharing their cultural recipes and lead grocery store tours where the ingredients can be purchased. If you have a favorite Chinese, Guatemalan, Indian, Irish, Jamaican, Korean, Mexican, Turkish, or any other global recipe, and would like to guide a tour, please contact diane.li@hclibrary.org or (410-924-2226). Let's come together to celebrate the diverse foods and cultures that enrich Columbia and Howard County!

*The International Grocery Store Tour is a collaborative project between HCLS (Howard County Library System) and CA (Columbia Association) International Exchange and Multicultural Program.
