Back by popular demand, we are highlighting the cuisine of China again this month, however, with a change in venue. This month’s tour will be of GW GreatWall Supermarket (5510 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD 21228) on Thursday, February 23 from 3-4pm. A native of Hong Kong and an avid cook, our volunteer will lead a group of 15 participants on the tour, and provide recipes to several Cantonese dishes and explain what the ingredients are and where to find them in the grocery store. Along with the tour, participants will receive a list of resources related to the featured culture, including history, literature, travel information and culinary traditions.
We are also seeking volunteers who are interested in sharing their cultural recipes and to lead a tour of a grocery store where the ingredients can be purchased. If you have a favored Chinese, Guatemalan, Indian, Irish, Jamaican, Mexican, Turkish or other global recipe you would like to share and lead a tour, please contact Grace.Chang@ColumbiaAssociation.org (410-715-3178) or Diane.Li@hclibrary.org or (410- 924-2226). We welcome all and everyone to celebrate the wonderful, diverse foods and cultures represented in Columbia and Howard County!
