HUD Approved First Time Homebuyer Workshop

In this six-hour HUD-approved workshop participants will learn how to purchase a home and what to expect during the process. Topics covered include financial awareness and preparedness credit reporting and the importance of a healthy credit report advantages and challenges of home ownership types of mortgages available financial assistance programs what is included in the mortgage payment; the homebuying process working with a lender and realtor PMI ratios home inspection and more. Presented by CCSMD a 53 year old non-profit financial education and credit counseling agency in Columbia. Participants who complete the workshop will receive a 1st Time Homebuyer Workshop Certificate which is required and accepted by the Howard County Department of Housing and Community Development from candidates for Moderate Housing Income Unit (MIHU) or the Settlement Down Payment Loan Program (SDLP).
