Your BGE Energy Bills: Why They're So High and What You Can Do to Lower Them

Have you noticed that your energy bills have been getting more expensive? Have you already tried the usual ways to lower your bill and are still looking for additional strategies to reduce your monthly costs? Join Laurel Peltier for an informative discussion on practical ways to lower your energy bills.

Laurel Peltier is an energy writer and advocate focused on ensuring that Maryland's 430,000 low-income families can afford their home energy bills. She also serves as AARP Maryland’s utility advocate and chairs the state coalition that works with agencies and legislators to develop and implement programs that truly serve residential customers. Her work on residential retail choice culminated in the passage of SB1, a landmark reform of Maryland’s retail energy choice market. Beyond her policy work, Laurel volunteers with Maryland’s Critical Medical Needs Program, directly helping families manage their utility bills and access energy assistance.
