After blaming just about everything else, nutrition and medical science are now in basic agreement that excessive consumption of sugar and all kinds of carbohydrates beyond vegetables in their natural forms is one, if not THE, root cause of many diseases.  Per person sugar/carbohydrate consumption has been steadily rising over the past 5 decades with staggering results, including rapidly rising rates of obesity at younger and younger ages. Nutrition Specialist Courtney Carpenter will cover the basic biology behind our cravings for sugar and discuss what we can do to support our bodies by eating wisely.
