Please join us for this new quarterly series wherein we will watch films about humans, since all great stories involve great characters, and then we'll discuss them with our fellow humans.

We meet every fifth Thursday of the month (roughly every three months) at the Elkridge Branch.

The movies are available on DVD from the library collection or via Kanopy streaming service.  You can watch the movie at the library with us on Jun 29th, or watch it on your own in advance and then attend the discussion (that will take place after the screening) with your fellow humans, facilitated by library instructors.

Jun 29: Potato Dreams of America

"Wes Hurley's autobiographical dark comedy about a gay boy growing up in the collapsing USSR, his courageous mail-order bride mother and their adventurous escape to America. Full of unexpected twists, the film is an immigrant's take on the American Dream and the power of cinema, proving that life is often stranger than fiction".
