For English Language Learners only. 10 classes - 1/24/20 to 3/27/20. Registration and testing required. Testing Time: 1pm on Tue. 1/7/20 or 6pm on Wed. 1/8/20. Class Description: This English conversation class is designed for parents of children aged three and younger who would like to bring their children to class with them. Parents will learn to better understand informal spoken English and will increase their knowledge of English vocabulary especially as it relates to parenting topics. The class will also increase studentsí knowledge of the culture of parenting in the U.S. heighten their conversational skills and help them become confident about beginning conversations in English. Additionally it will provide them with authentic and informal parenting language such as that used in parenting blogs and conversations. Each week students will receive a handout with vocabulary to be covered in the lesson as well as discussion questions that they will discuss as a class. They will also receive a printout of a blog or other type of article as reading homework for the next weekís topic.
