Program Description

Event Details

For this two-part class, we will read two books and examine how the novels reflect each other and what they suggest about our society and the ways in which we form our personal identities.

August 06 Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

August 20 March: a novel  by Geraldine Brooks

One of the earliest contenders for the Great American Novel, Little Women is a coming-of-age story about four young sisters growing up during the civil war. March is a modern retelling of the story through the perspective of the absent patriarch of the March family who is acting as a chaplain for the Union Army.
