This session provides you an opportunity to practice public narrative, an important community organizing and community engagement skill.
First, you’ll talk with others about what you care about in our community and want to achieve. Then, we’ll learn about public narratives – effective story telling about yourself, your community, and the work you hope to do with others.
You’ll prepare a “story of you” and practice sharing it with other participants.
You’ll leave with a draft story, new contacts who share your interests and new energy for community organizing and engagement.
Note: this instruction is based on the work of the Leading Change Network. Materials are used with permission. This session is led by Katie DiSalvo-Thronson and Dr. Kelly Clark.
