Our Business Roundtable has a new date in June! Originally set for June 12, it will now be held on June 26. Mark your calendars and see you there!
Every other month, HCLS collaborates to host an online Roundtable dedicated to showcasing a local business owned by a Person of Color in Howard County. These sessions serve as a platform for business owners or entrepreneurs to share their unique experiences and the hurdles they've overcome in establishing and running their businesses. Moderated by Nat Alston, Chair and Founder of the Ujamaa Business Roundtable, these discussions include dedicated time for audience questions.
Join us to delve into the intricacies of launching and sustaining a successful business through our Roundtable discussions. Engage directly with individuals actively managing local businesses, and gain insights that may prove invaluable for aspiring entrepreneurs. Who knows, their stories and expertise could ignite the spark that propels you toward your own entrepreneurial journey!
The featured business owner at June's Business Roundtable is Lee Putney, Sr., Founder of Asé Water.
Asé (or àse or ashe) is an African philosophical concept that literally means making things happen, evoking the power of thought to produce change.
Asé Water, the all-natural brand of alkaline water is now the first, 100% African American-owned brand of bottled water to be available nationally for wholesale distribution. The concept for Asé Water was launched by a team of African American executives in 2017, to counter what many felt to be a lackadaisical response to a catastrophic health crisis in Flint, Michigan. Sip the purest form of nature with Asé 💧: 100% natural, alkaline spring water. Double-filtered, sterilized, and free from additives. Stay hydrated.

In partnership with Ujamaa Business Roundtable, a roundtable of African-American business owners from the counties of Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Baltimore and Baltimore City.
