Art-illery: Veteran Paper Workshop

Registration Required. Ages 18+. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome. <font color=red><b>Please also register for the previous Aug 3 session at 10 am for this 2-day workshop.</b></font> This 2-day workshop is a space in which returning veterans and military families can discuss and process their personal experiences of conflict through the artistic discipline of papermaking. Hand papermaking enables veterans to turn their clothing and uniforms into paper that is then used for visual art or writing. The process of shredding and pulping the material telling stories and sharing experiences one had in the garments creates a new shared outcome forging personal relationships fostering individual investment and supporting community cohesiveness. The workshop welcomes veterans to bring in their own material into the process. Donated uniforms from veterans will also be provided.Lunch will be provided.
